My Top 5 Fast Food Restaurants

5: Sonic
Very famous for keeping the car hop era of the 1950’s alive to this day, Sonic truly is, as they say, America’s Drive-In. The idea behind Sonic was for customers to remain humbly in their vehicles and order using a speaker situated on a pole in designated parking spots. Once ready, the food would be taken to the car by one of the car hop employees.
Not only does Sonic Drive-In Restaurants stand out because they still utilize the speaker and car hop method of order taking and delivery, but their menu has countless combinations of treats. As a customer you can take any flavor of syrup or juice that they have on their menu and combine it with one of their Slushies, carbonated beverages, or Fresh Fruit Limeaids. This leads to a truly unique drink of your very own. Another thing which sets them apart is their namesake: the speed at which the customer obtains his/her food.
4: Subway
The world famous weight losing Jerry promotes one of the best fast food chains in American history as far as I’m concerned. It was founded by relatives Fred De Luca in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The 20 year old Fred borrowed some money from his uncle, Peter Buck, and opened Pete’s Submarines. The name was changed later to Pete’s Subway since radio advertisements about the sandwich shop sounded like Pizza Marines. Later, it was shortened to simply Subway, and this name finally stuck. Its success was instantaneous.
. Subway offers one of the healthiest alternatives to fast food restaurants. Not only is Subway able to create custom sub sandwiches for each customer in less than five minutes, but they also use healthy, fresh, and not to mention delicious ingredients. This became the signature aspect for Subway as its franchises expanded throughout the entire country and eventually into the worldwide marketplace.

3: Chic-fil-A
This queen mother of all fast food gluttony was originally founded by Truett Cathy under the name Dwarf House very close to home in Atlanta Georgia.
Chick-fil-A focuses on chicken based dishes rather than hamburgers so often found in other fast food establishments. In fact, not one beef item is sold on the Chic-fil-A menu. They are set aside from other fast food restaurants because they cook with peanut oil and their chicken is all 100% whole white breast meat chicken (not that mechanically separated compressed stuff found in most other fast food chicken dishes). Everything from their chicken nuggets to their classic chicken sandwich is all white meat.
Another signature menu item is their unique waffle fries. This also sets them apart from other places that serve the traditional french fried potato strands. Top that off with their unique Chic-fil-A sauce and you have one of the best places to grab a quick bite to eat in the entire world.

2: Panda Express
Panda Express tops any other Chinese restaurant’s takeout department any day. First of all, the timing is second to none. No need to call ahead like other restaurants. You come in and in no less than 5 minutes you walk out happier than a boy on Christmas morning.
Secondly, there are so many delicious menu Items to choose from. For example, you would expect that they order their renowned Orange Chicken from a high class Oriental eatery, but I fact checked and they do make it themselves. Yeah, it’s that good. Another menu item that Panda Express fanatics are raving about is their Mongolian beef. It’s so tender and juicy, I could eat it all day. Put either of these scrumptious main menu items over their signature fried rice (or chicken, pork, or beef fried rice if you’re feeling crazy), and you’ve got yourself a little slice of heaven in a bowl.

1: Five Guys
Honestly, I think I would probably rather go sit down at a Five Guys than a fancy, over-priced, delicious yet under-portioned restaurant. First of all, the simplicity is amazing. You never have to give yourself a headache about what to order because there really are close to five things on the menu. The only decisions you have to make is how many patties you want on your burger, soda or milkshake, and regular or Cajun fries. The good news is no matter what you choose, it’s bound to be delicious.
Let’s talk about the burgers. Nice and crispy and seared on the outside, yet surprisingly juicy and flavorful on the inside. Two of those patties with cheese topped with your choice of bacon, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and/or any condiments packed between two warm and soft buns makes for one colossal burger. The fries are just as impressive. Fried in peanut oil until golden brown, lightly salted, and if you dare Cajun seasoning.
Did I mention free peanuts while you wait for your order? Because who doesn’t love free peanuts.
